The Peak of Festive Fun
Sure, winter means short, chilly days and dark nights, but nothing compares to the joy this time of the year brings. Grab your gloves and winter boots, because ‘tis the season for festive fun at Southlands! Here are three ways to enjoy the holiday season with the whole family while creating unforgettable memories.
Hit the Holiday Hometown Parade
Nothing says holidays like our annual Holiday Hometown Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony. Check out local floats, marching bands, community groups (like Boy and Girl Scouts), carolers, and Santa himself aboard an antique fire engine called Big John!
Plus, Aurora TV anchors—Wendy Brockman and Matthew Peterson—will join us to highlight the parade festivities. Then, Aurora’s own Mayor Mike Coffman and Santa Claus will “flip the switch” and light the Southlands Christmas Tree for the first time—the official start of the holiday season!
Can’t make it in person? Aurora TV will broadcast live starting at 5:30pm.
Skate into the Season
Glide into the holiday season at The Pond. Our ice skating rink is now open and ready for you—book your skate sesh in advance to ensure you get your desired time slot.
Hours:
- Monday–Thursday: 4pm–9pm
- Friday: 4pm–10pm
- Saturday: 11am–10pm
- Sunday: 11am–7pm
- School holidays: 11am–10pm
We can’t wait to hit the rink with you!
Ready, Set, Santa!
Santa Claus is coming to town! Commemorate this holiday season with magical Santa photos you and your family will look back on for years to come. Bring your friends and family (pets included!) to see the big guy himself. Say hi, share wishlists, and more!
We’ll have a sensory-friendly Santa onsite on December 11. Plus, bring your pets for Paws and Claus every Wednesday! Reserve your spot before they fill up!
